Week 3 to 9 (17/03/2025 to 04/05/2025)

Oh boy, I fell behind on this didn't I - not that I am surprised - I always struggle to stick to diary writing. It's amazing that I've even consistently kept on top of my calorie counting and food diary, let alone on here. If it wasn't from a lot of help from my husband (who weighs out everything we eat to help keep within our base calories), I probably would have missed a few days or weeks on my Nutracheck app too.

Ok, let's try another clean slate and try and summarise how the last 6 weeks have gone.

Weigh Ins summary:

17/03/2025 -1lb loss

24/03/2025 -4.5lb loss

31/03/2025 -3lb loss

07/04/205 -4lb loss

14/04/202 -3lb loss

21/04/2025 -2lb loss

28/04/2025 -3lb loss (hit my 2 stone loss milestone on this weigh in)

05/05/2025 -3lb loss (hit my 10% overall weight loss milestone on this weigh in)

Total loss so far from the start of my weight loss & improve health journey: 2 Stone 3.8lbs. Left to lose for my first initial goal: 3 Stone 4.2lbs.

I've also been measuring my limbs, neck, waist and hips to see when I am losing inches (very helpful on weigh in days when I haven't lost as much as expected), and the inches are dropping off nicely from my hips, waist, chest, neck however, my thighs  have gone up and down and my calves appear to be getting bigger rather than smaller. I'm guessing this is due to all the swimming I am doing as well as my Couch to 5k sessions. My calves are naturally big as well, so a little disappointing, however, I am overall thrilled with how my weight loss and health improvement is going.

Clothes are starting to get loser on me, my belly not feeling as in the way. My stamina for exercise has significantly improved. I am enjoying the meals I am eating, and only had a couple of random days where I wish I could just have a binge day (but still resisted).

Easter weekend was the true test, with Easter feasts, a family birthday and of course, all the chocolate from Easter eggs. Managed to remain within my base calories over the weekend, and also managed to eat within base calories + exercise calories on Easter Monday when I spent time with extended family and had a lovely Easter lunch spread.

I have completed 6 weeks of Couch to 5k already, week 7 starts this week (week commencing 05/05/2025) with every session being 25 minutes of consistent jogging (plus 5 min warm up and 5 min cool down). Only 2 weeks to go until I complete the Couch to 5k programme! (I will then do the Beyond Couch to 5k programme).

I've also been doing Aqua Fit 2 to 3 times a week on top of swimming as many days as I can each week. During the Easter holidays, managed to do 5 Aqua Fit sessions as well as daily 1.5 to 2 hour swims.

Something I have struggled with is making sure I reach my at least 10k steps per day (I usually hit 5 to 6 days out of the 7 days per week).

There is 3 weeks until my Birthday (where I plan on not sticking to base and exercise calories that day). I am really hoping I can lose 6lb by then - which will mean I will have dropped down in the next stone bracket and only be 3lb away from my 3rd Stone milestone.

That's pretty much it to tell in a quickish summary. I will endeavour to get back into remaining on top of this from next week!
